Every story on Janata Samachar is prepared on these principles.
Accuracy
Before a story is published, its facts are checked against a reliable source. Anything that is not confirmed is not written as confirmed fact. Fast-moving stories are updated as new information arrives.
Sources and original writing
We write our stories in our own words. Some stories come from news agencies and other news feeds. Where possible, such stories name the original source and link to it, and they are published only after an editorial check. We do not pass off other people's reporting as our own.
Photos and video
We use photos and video only when we have the right to use them or the source has allowed them to be shared. If you object to something we have used, write to us and we will look at it promptly.
Use of technical tools
We sometimes use automated tools to help with translation or language editing. Even with such help, responsibility for what is published stays with our editors.
Fairness and advertising
We do not take the side of any party, person or group in our news reporting. Advertising and sponsored content are kept separate from news and clearly marked. Advertisers do not change what we report.
Comments
Reader comments are welcome. Abusive, hateful or misleading comments are removed.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and, where needed, add a correction note to the story. The details are in our Corrections Policy. To report a mistake, write to info@janatasamachar.in.
